Split Limb Adapters
The all new Bowmaster Split Limb adapters were designed to adapt the Bowmaster Bow Press to a wide variety of bows. These new adapters are adjustable in width to fit both narrow and wide limbs
and everything in between. They work on bows with limbs that are up to but not past-parallel at rest. The new design puts the Bowmaster Bow Press out past the bowstring, providing more leverage which makes the Bowmaster Bow Press even easier to use. This new placement also provides complete clearance from all bow accessories. Quick and easy installation allows you to compress your bow in under a minute.
NOT for use on bows with flared limbs, e.g., Bear Truth® or bows with limbs that are past parallel at rest.
SPLIT LIMB ADAPTER INSTRUCTIONS
First adjust the Bowmaster limb adapters to the width of the limb. Hold one of the limb adapters up to the face of the limb. Turn the adjuster wheel and adjust the adapter width slightly wider than the limb. ( Figure 1) Adjust the other limb adapter to the same width.
Lay the bow on a flat surface. Install the limb adapters on the end of each limb by coming in at an angle to the edge of the limb just behind the cam or wheel ( Figure 2) and then rotate and slide them into position. ( Figure 3)
Letting the side brackets swing at an angle to each other may make it easier to install the adapters.

Lay the bow on a flat surface with the string toward you. Lay your Bowmaster press alongside the bowstring. ( Figure 4)

Attach the non-adjustable end of the cable to one of the limb adapters. Move the adjustable end of the cable into position and attach it to the other limb adapter. You may need to adjust jackscrew on the Bowmaster press so that one of the adjustment stops is in the proper position. Turn the jackscrew on the Bowmaster press so that most of the slack is out of the cable. This is only to put a small amount of presser on the limb adapters to hold them in place for final adjustment. Do not start to compress the bow at this time.
Pick the bow up and if needed adjust the limb adapters so that they are square on the limbs. IMPORTANT - Make the final width adjustment on the limb adapters so that each of the side brackets is snug and parallel with the side of the limb. ( Figure 5) If the width of the limb adapters is adjusted too narrow, it will cause the free end of the side brackets to flare apart and the side brackets will not be parallel with the sides of the limbs.

CAUTION: Position the Bowmaster press at least 4" from the last adjustment stop before compressing the bow, otherwise the stop may be pulled into the Cable Roller resulting in damage to the cable roller and cable.
Do not over press your bow. Only press the bow enough to perform the needed repair. Do not remove the axles while the bow is compressed.
WARNING: The limbs of a compound bow are under extreme tension. Use caution while working on the bow. Keep the face of the limbs away from you at all times. Eye protection must be worn.
PAST-PARALLEL at rest
The new Bowmaster split limb adapters WILL NOT work on most bows that are beyond parallel or past-parallel AT REST. Some manufactures describe their bows as past-parallel (e.g. Hoyt Maxxis) but they are only past-parallel when drawn. The new adapters WILL work on bows with limbs up to parallel at rest. The exception to the past-parallel rule is the Mathews Monster. The blocks on the tops of the limb tips of the Monster hold the adapters in place and keep them from sliding toward the ends of the limbs. While many of the PSE X-Force bows are past-parallel at rest, not all of them are. For example, the X-Force SS models that we have seen are not past-parallel at rest, while every X-Force GX we have seen is past-parallel at rest.
Because of the past-parallel issue, the new adapters WILL NOT work on most of the PSE X-Force models and the Bear Attack and Assault model bows.
AXEL MOUNTED ON TOP OF THE LIMB (Destroyer models by BowTech)
BowTech is using a pillow block bearing on the tops of the limb tips of their new Destroyer model bows. The new Bowmaster split limb adapters WILL NOT clear the axel and should not be used on these bows.
BOWS WITH FLARED LIMB TIPS (Some Bear model bows)
Some of Bear Archery?s bows have flared limb tips. The new Bowmaster split limb adapters WILL NOT work on bows with flared limb tips.
YES, THEY DO WORK ON
The new split limb adapters do work on solid limbs, center pivot limbs, parallel limbs, narrow limbs and wide limbs.
